toast: Hard but good. The chemist line may be a rare attempt to give US gridders a level playing field or whatever other term they favour /favor. (3 years, 12 months ago)

MondoGrid: I demur with the other commenters. "Thomas A. Swift's electric rifle" is contrived, but still an acronym. You could argue MOdulator/DEModulator or RAdio Detection And Ranging are equally iffy. I liked it, anyway! (3 years, 12 months ago)

phdee: Good effort, but taser doesn't strictly fit. It's a made up word to rhyme with laser. Tom Swift's Electric Rifle -- made up!! (3 years, 12 months ago)

Hampton Quimbles: Really good, though I take issue with the 'chemist' line on account of there being a lot of other examples of that... too broad a category maybe? (3 years, 12 months ago)
